I'M THE SH*T

Earlier this week, I was reflecting back over my life and memories of moments in time began to flood across my mind. Recent memories and 15+ year old memories. Some of them of my experiences, accomplishments, failures, and situations that I had encountered over the years through some of the most challenging circumstances. As a smile begin to appear across my face and a tear rolled down my cheek, it was at that moment that I realized, I’m THE SH*T! Ooops, can I say that? Does it make me sound arrogant or conceded?

There are ideas that I have curated, obstacles that I’ve overcome and goals that I have achieved. Some came out of sheer will and determination. Others from the dirt and grind of being handed cards that I had no other choice but to play. Because for me folding is NEVER an option.

I’m sure that I’m no different. I know there are obstacles, challenges, or achievements that you have accomplished. And guess what, it’s okay for you to say I’m THE SH*T! It doesn’t mean that we think we are better than anyone else. It means that you showed up and you got things done in spite of the circumstances or situations that you may have been in. Sometimes, life will make us downplay things that we have overcome or things that we have accomplished.

So today, you are free to unapologetically say "I AM THE SH*T" and relish in it.
