At the end of the day, we all just want to be seen.
I remember growing up feeling invisible—lonely, insecure, and sad. All I wanted was for someone to notice me and say, “I see you. Are you okay?” But that moment never came.
As I grew older and began to heal, I made a promise to myself: I would be for others what I needed back then.
Now, I make it a point—every single day—to truly see the women around me. I notice the hurt behind the smile, the exhaustion in their eyes, the words they don't say. And when I do, I speak up. Maybe it's a compliment about her hair, her outfit, her fragrance, her earrings, or just her smile. It doesn’t matter what it is—what matters is that she feels seen.
So many times, I’ve heard, “Thank you. I needed that today.” And sometimes, it ends in a much-needed hug.
This is your reminder: sis, I see you. And my challenge to you? Go out each day and give at least one genuine compliment to another woman. You never know the impact your words might have. You might just make her entire day.
Because at the end of the day—we all just want to be seen.
